The Great Lakes Challenge Cup This is the fifth annual Challenge. The Challenge is a club event intended to be fun, competitive, and a little different from what we do most of the time. Unlike most of what we do in HRC, on this day, dog/handler teams will compete against one another to earn the title of Top Dog in GLHRC! Set up and scoring will be "similar" to what you may have seen on the Super Retriever Series on television. NOTE: This event is intended to be competitive, but fun! Handlers will keep perspective and remember that this is a club social event, not a Super Retriever Series qualifier! General Information When:
July 11, 9:00AM Where: Location TBA Format: There will be three stakes in the challenge.
Open event for the GLHRC's "Top Dogs" Junior Challenge Slightly simpler challenge event for younger dogs Super Singles100 yd. single mark, fastest retrieve takes all!
Cost: $20 entry fee for Challenge Cup To Enter: RSVP to Chad Miller to tell him you are planning to attend and which stake(s) you will enter! Challenge Cup Specifics
Rules and Scoring Unlike the SRS, we will not be assessing "Major Faults" for a 5 point penalty. Our goal is to eliminate the need for "judgement" and simply "keep score." You will be scored based on how quickly and efficiently you pick up the birds. Points will accumulate as follows: Any whistle blown
= 2 points Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie in points, the dog who completes the test in the least time will be declared the winner.
