Canine First Aid Clinic - Feb. 14

One of  our members, Sarah Shull, DVM will be offering a clinic entitled First Aid for the Canine Outdoor Enthusiast" on Feb. 14 in Midland.  Topics of the clinic will include how to deal with and treat such problems as heat stroke, hypothermia, and injury in the field.  Sarah is an accomplished hunter and dog trainer as well as a veterinarian and can speak from the perspective of hunters.

The event is sponsored by Michigan Flyways Retriever Club, the new AKC club in that area and they are planning a raffle as well as a club meeting immediately following the event.  This should be a great day to get out and learn about keeping our retrievers safe and healthy as well as support another club's efforts!  We hope you'll make the trip!

Upland Hunt Scheduled Mar. 27-28!

Mark your calendars!  This year's GLHRC Upland Hunt will be held Mar. 27 & 28 at Wings and Rings Pheasant Hunting Preserve again this year.  We will once again be offering four tests over the course of the weekend, so you will have the opportunity to earn your dog's Upland Hunter title in one weekend!  The judges will have access to over 100 acres of rolling hills, sorghum, corn, switchgrass, and other cover to design the challenging upland tests, so we should see some good ones!  Make plans to join us!

Many jobs still need to be assigned for the weekend, so if you are able to help, please contact Chad Miller (269-370-3498) to volunteer!  It's a great time, and many hands make light work!

Great Lakes Hunting Retriever Club operates according to its By-Laws and is a division of The Hunting Retriever Club, Inc., a national organization for the betterment of Hunting Retrievers as a whole.  The Hunting Retriever Club, Inc. is associated with the United Kennel Club registry.
